Chicken Rice

Singapore’s national dish, a satisfying meal of chicken and rice has taken on iconic status in the tiny city-state. While popular all over Southeast Asia, Singapore has made a name for the dish and Singapore Airlines, the national airline, offers it as an in-flight meal.

Served pale and glistening, the chicken is prepared by slowly steeping it in stock. While the look is very basic, the cooking process has provided for a massively flavorful chicken dish like none other. As mentioned before, it’s a very simple-looking dish, but the taste more than makes up for the plain appearance.

Chicken Rice, or Hainanese Chicken, can be found in all ranges of restaurants in Singapore.
