A specialty of the Philippines consisting of a crusty pastry and an egg custard filling. The pie, itself, is rich in flavor — the custard’s flavor and consistency is very similar to flan.

While similar, the Filipino egg pie is typically much larger than the popular Chinese Custard Tart.
