Albert Capsouto Park

In 2009, this former parking lot opened as a park; a triangle between Canal, Varick, and Laight streets. The standout of the park is the fountain. The fountain, designed by Elyn Zimmerman, opens at an 8-foot tower and flows for 114 feet. The fountain is supposed to depict locks, like a canal, running parallel to Canal street.

Albert Capsouto was the youngest of the three founding brothers of TriBeCa bistro Capsouto Frères.
