A sparkling, very dry white wine from the Basque Country; the wine has a low-alcohol content and is typically served as an aperitif.

The wine is popular with pintxos and other similar bar snacks because it helps cleanse the palette between dishes.

In the Basque Country, just outside of Bilbao, there is a museum devoted to txakoli, the Museo del Txakoli.
