American Gothic

J. Seward Johnson Jr.’s 25-foot-tall reproduction of Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” stands along Chicago’s Michigan Avenue; the famously depicted father and daughter are an interesting contrast with the (ironically) neo-gothic design of the Tribune Tower that it stands before.

American Gothic is in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
